What is the future of wearable devices?
Wearables are one of the fastest-growing sectors in the global technology
landscape. GlobalData forecast report shows that the wearable tech market will
grow up to 134% by 2024. This already ongoing trend is accelerated due to
people’s increased health awareness during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Also Frost & Sullivan forecasts that the market for IoT testing and measurement
will increase from $2.4 billion in 2019 to $3.2 billion in 2025, driven by rising
demand for testing solutions for healthcare and 5G-based IoT applications.
According to several resources, wearable technology can be the solution of
detecting the symptoms of COVID-19 by constantly tracking their vital signs such
as body temperature, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, respiration rate, daily
activity, etc. Interestingly, Stanford researchers were able to detect signs of the
virus before diagnosis in 11 out of 14 patients by studying changes in their heart
rate captured by wearable devices.
What do you think of using a personal wearable device for safe guarding your
condition? What should it look like and do for you and what is your favorite
